Leadership

Thomas M. Blanchard, Jr., joined Blanchard and Calhoun in 1970 after graduating from the University of Virginia. He has served as President of Blanchard and Calhoun since 1985. Tommy currently serves on the boards of the CSRA Community Foundation, Westover Memorial Cemetery, First Tee of Augusta, and the Augusta Advisory Board for Wachovia Bank. Tommy is the past Chairman of the Metro Augusta Chamber of Commerce, past President of the Augusta Board of Realtors and past President of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia.

Cobbs G. Nixon is a graduate of the Academy of Richmond County and the University of Virginia. He has worked in the insurance industry since 1971. His accomplishments include President of Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia, the Augusta Museum of History, the Augusta Rowing Club, and Chairman of the Richmond County Republican Party. He is a member of the Appalachian Trail Conference, a cofounder of the Westobou Festival, and serves on the Board of the Southeastern Natural Sciences Academy. Cobbs is married with three children and five grandchildren. He is a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. His hobbies include cycling, hiking, swimming, reading and golf.

Preston A. Moss is married with four children. He is a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, current President of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Past President of the Augusta Independent Insurance Agents, Past Board Member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia, current Board Member of University Healthcare Foundation, a Board of Trustee for the Episcopal Day School and Big Changes Start Small, Inc. He is a Past Board Member of Child Enrichment and the Augusta Child Advocacy Center, and Past President of the Augusta Players. Preston has been a valuable part of the Blanchard & Calhoun team since 1980.

Morris H. Moss is a native of Augusta, Georgia. In 1981, he graduated from Augusta Preparatory School and in 1986, he achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia. His accomplishments include an Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America, Certificate of Merit from Who’s Who Among American High School Students, Past President of Independent Insurance Agents of Augusta, Advisory Board for Junior League of Augusta, and sat on the Board of Directors for The Kiwanis Club of Augusta. Morris and his wife, Amy, have two children, Hampton and Megan. They attend Wesley United Methodist Church. Morris is a Vice President of Blanchard and Calhoun Insurance Agency and he has been with Blanchard & Calhoun Insurance since 1986.

Will Weston is a graduate of Augusta Preparatory School and the University of Georgia. He has been in the insurance business since 1984. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia and the Executive Committee. He is President-Elect of IIAG. He also serves on the board of directors for the National Science Center, Pinnacle Club, and the Hale House Foundation, Inc. Will is a Past President of Child Enrichment, Inc. and the Augusta Golf Association. He is an active member of the Exchange Club of Augusta and the Augusta Golf Association. Will is married to the former Elaine Echols and they have two children, William and Elizabeth. They attend St Paul's Episcopal Church in downtown Augusta.

Natasha Pratt was born and raised in North Augusta, SC and now resides in Augusta with her husband, Christopher. She is a 1996 graduate of Augusta State University with a degree in French and Political Science. She has been licensed in property, casualty, life, health and accident insurance since 1996. Currently she is working toward her AAI designation in order to keep current with the industry trends. She is very active in the Augusta Make A Wish Board, Augusta State Alumni Association, Executive Women’s Golf Association and Women in Business. Natasha has been on the Augusta Board of Directors for the Make a Wish Foundation since 2003. Ash L. Smith is a graduate of Stratford Academy in Macon, Georgia and the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. He has been licensed in the insurance industry for over a decade in various risk management areas. He is a member of Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia, Exchange Club of Richmond County, Central Savannah River Land Trust and Homebuilders Association of Georgia and South Carolina. He currently serves on the Board for the Exchange Club of Richmond County and the Committee for Cookin' For Kids along with Child Enrichment. He is currently active with Historic Augusta, Morris Museum of Art and the Southeastern Natural Sciences Academy. He, his wife and two children attend First Baptist Church Augusta.

Robbie Moore has been with Blanchard & Calhoun since 2003. He is a graduate from the University of Georgia with a degree in Risk Management & Insurance. He and his wife Kristen attend The Church at Greenbrier, where he also serves on the finance committee. He is involved in the Kiwanis Club of Augusta. Robbie and his wife both grew up in the Augusta area and they now reside in Evans.

John Gibbs is a graduate of North Augusta High School and the University of Georgia. He ran Gibbs Auto from 1977 until he sold it in 2005. He joined Blanchard and Calhoun Insurance Agency in July of 2006 after working with Nationwide. John and his wife Terri have two daughters, Lauren and Katelyn. William “Madison” Harper V is an Augusta native. He graduated from The Academy of Richmond County High School. He then went on to earn a double major in History and Anthropology from Augusta State University in 2003. Madison started with Blanchard and Calhoun Insurance in July of 2007. Patterson H. Powell, II is a native of Augusta, Georgia. He graduated from Richmond Academy and Augusta State University. Commercial Lines

Patty Partridge has over 28 years experience in insurance. She has been with Blanchard & Calhoun since 1995. Patty works manages the Commercial Department and works as an account manager. She and her husband reside in Lincolnton, Georgia. They have two children and six grandchildren. She loves playing golf whenever possible.

Terri Stone has been a part of Blanchard & Calhoun Insurance since 1981. She is licensed in property and casualty insurance. She is married, with three children and eight grandchildren. Terri enjoys spending time at the beach with her family.

Shaji Pillai has been with Blanchard & Calhoun Insurance in the Commercial Lines Department since October of 1994. She is married and has three beautiful daughters.

She has 25 years experience in the insurance industry. She has been with Blanchard and Calhoun for ten years. She is the secretary for the Independent Insurance Agents of Augusta and Past President of Insurance Women of Augusta.

Mindy Dowdy has been with Blanchard and Calhoun since 2006. She has been licensed in property and casualty insurance since 2007. She was born and raised in Augusta. Mindy is married with one daughter.

Pamela Scrum has 9 years of experience in both personal and commercial lines insurance. She joined Blanchard & Calhoun in 2007.

Lynn Poythress has been with Blanchard & Calhoun since February 2008. She has over 20 years experience in the Insurance industry, being licensed in Property & Casualty and Life & Health. She resides in Grovetown and is a graduate of Harlem High. She is a member of Grove First Baptist Church and a volunteer for the Humane Society. Her favorite pastime is watching UGA baseball.

Mary started with Blanchard & Calhoun in 2000 as the Receptionist. In 2006 she was transferred to the Marketing Department as a Marketing Assistant, and is now currently a Technical Assistant with the Commercial Lines Department. Mary is originally from Pennsylvania and is married with 3 children, and 5 grandchildren. She enjoys spending time together with her family and a variety of outdoor activities.

Pat Smith has been with Blanchard and Calhoun since 2006. She is married and the mother of three boys. She is very active in her church as the Choir Director, Praise Team Leader, and a Sunday School Teacher.

Virginia White joined the Blanchard & Calhoun team in September, 2007. She is an Augusta native and enjoys traveling and spending time with friends.

Marketing

Larry Dotson has 27 years experience in the insurance business and holds the Charter Property & Casualty Underwriter designation. Larry is a graduate of Georgia State University. Larry is a member of the marketing team at Blanchard & Calhoun.

Personal Lines

Suzanne Gay is the Personal Lines Manager and Assistant Vice President. She has more than 25 years experience and has been with Blanchard & Calhoun since 1980. Suzanne is licensed in personal lines insurance. She is a native of Augusta. She is married with two children and five grandchildren.

Celeatha Lehr has been with the agency since 1995 and has been licensed in personal lines for over ten years. She started in our accounting department and is now a Personal Lines Account Manager. She is originally from Harlem and a graduate of Harlem High School. She is married with one daughter.

Terry Eberl is a Personal Lines CSR with over 25 years experience in the Insurance business. Terry joined the Blanchard & Calhoun team in 2003. She holds the Accredited Customer Service Representative designation as well as the Certified Professional Insurance Woman designation. Terry is a member of the CSRA Shag Club and loves the beach and camping.

Amy Dansby came to Blanchard & Calhoun in 2003 with experience in customer service. She is licensed in property and casualty insurance and serves as a Personal Lines CSR. Amy is married, has two children, and is originally from Evans, Ga.

Barbara Powell is the Claims Manager and has over 30 years experience in the insurance industry. She has been with Blanchard & Calhoun since 1991. She is married with one son.

Clerical Staff

Valerie Parrish is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a bachelors degree in Psychology. She has been in the insurance industry since 1999 and joined Blanchard & Calhoun in 2003 . Valerie handles the agency accounting and licensing and is the system administrator. She is married and has two daughters.

Jeanette came to Blanchard & Calhoun in January, 2007. She is the agency’s receptionist.
